New bumper, new fender? It can sometimes take months for the spare parts of a Tesla to reach German customers

German TeslaCustomers often have to wait three to four weeks for simple spare parts such as bumpers or fenders, sometimes even up to 12 weeks. This is reported by the manager magazin in its new issue (release date: 18 May), citing owners and employees of eight certified Tesla workshops from all over Germany.

According to the workshops, the European central warehouse in Tilburg, Netherlands, does not have many parts in stock, apparently because it is too small in size. The parts would then be time consuming to ship in from the USA.

Numerous customers strike in Tesla forums on the Internet sharp tones because of “extreme waiting times”. Spare parts from German manufacturers such as BMW or Mercedes are usually available in one to two days.

At the request of manager magazin, a Tesla spokeswoman acknowledged problems with spare parts procurement. Now they want to increase the storage capacity and the number of workshops.
