Kia delivers in May 247,176 vehicles worldwide, 9% more

SEOUL, June 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The car company Kia delivered in May 247,176 vehicles worldwide, which was 9% more compared to the 226,826 units sold in the same month of 2017, the company said in a statement.

The company’s registrations in South Korea increased 8.1% last month to 47,046 units, due in part to the “strong sales” of its new K900 saloon.

In the rest of the world, the deliveries of Kia grew by 9.2%, to 200,130 vehicles, due to the good functioning of its compact SUV Sportage, which “responds to the growing demands of SUVs in the global market”.

By model, the company registered 48,074 units of the Sportage in May, positioning itself as its best-selling vehicle, above the Rio, with deliveries of 32,078 units.

So far this year, Kia delivered 1.13 million vehicles, which is 3.9% more than in the same period of 2017, of which 221,700 cars were sold in South Korea, 6.2% more . For its part, the company registered in the rest of the world in the first five months of the year 912,470 units, 3.4% more.
