Chinese startup Byton has teamed up with Bosch to build its vehicles.
The startup company Byton out China was one of the eye-catchers on the past CES 2018 in Las Vegas. There one imagined his vehicle, above all Tesla To make competition.
For the production of the Byton models one has now a cooperation with Bosch started, where it comes to deliveries of vehicle parts. This not only includes the drive and the brake, but also assistance systems.
The Byton vehicles are about level 3 autonomy (partial autonomy) and this comes mainly from the assistance systems. Later you should be able to upgrade the vehicle by updating to high autonomy (Level 4).
Byton is mainly from China manufacturer FAW funded and plans for next year the launch of the electric car. But you also cooperate with Baidu and the US startup Aurorathat also with Volkswagen and Hyundai has been used.
The cooperation agreement between Bosch and Byton did not mention any more in-depth details. From April you want to dare the first test drives with the prototypes.
Bosch also supplies the motorway assistant for the luxury brand Maserati and belongs with Mercedes Benz to one of the blocks for the development of autonomous driving.
