Following the announced resignation of Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, another long-serving board is now setting sail. Chief Financial Officer Bodo Uebber does not want an extension of his contract and will leave at the end of 2019.

DaimlerFinance Director Bodo Uebber has surprisingly announced his departure for the end of next year. Uebber had informed the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Manfred Bischoff, “that he does not aim for an extension of his order until December 2019 current order,” said the Stuttgart car maker on Sunday evening.

At first the company did not name one reason. Just last month, Daimler decided that the long-standing CEO Dieter Zetsche (65) handed over his post in May 2019 to the former head of research Ola Källenius. The 49-year-old Swede becomes the first foreign CEO at the helm of Daimler and also inherits from Zetsche the management of the Mercedes-Benz passenger car division.

The group is planning a radical reorganization for 2019: A parent company should be created with the independent car, truck and service subsidiaries.

The conversion will create three independent units under the roof of Daimler AG. The aim is greater flexibility in the transformation of the industry towards electromobility, autonomous cars and mobility services. Daimler By doing so, it also wants to be in a better position to enter into cooperations and partnerships in individual business areas.
