After diesel manipulations: raid on Audi

The manipulation of diesel vehicles was instrumental in the AudiHeadquarters in Ingolstadt. Now the prosecutors are moving in again. In a raid on Tuesday, both the AudiCentral as well as the work in Neckarsulm searched. The goal of the 18 prosecutors in action: they want to find evidence that prove the fraud. First, the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” reported on the raid.

Originally, the public prosecutor’s office Munich II had therefore determined against four Audi employees, meanwhile, the number of suspects has grown to 13. Last Wednesday, the private apartments of six current and former Audi engine technicians had already been searched.

Employees are accused of deliberately manipulating Audi diesel engines. With a fraudulent software, the exhaust gas cleaning should have been set so that the models performed well in the official exhaust gas test, but in real conditions, emit significantly more nitric oxide than allowed.
