Toyota will not manufacture more diesel passenger cars in Spain as of 2019

As reported by the company itself Toyota, the end of diesel in your cars is imminent. The manufacturer experienced a sharp drop in sales of its diesel vehicles during 2017, one of the reasons why it will stop offering this type of cars from the year 2019 in Spain, while demonstrating its commitment to the transition process a to sustainable mobility.

The manufacturer will renew its entire range of vehicles, so that it will expand its hybrid vehicles, with at least one hybrid version, in each new car that will be launched next year. With this initiative it will be possible to achieve the measures established by the Government for 2050 with models that will emit 90% less CO2.

In the last five years, the company has suffered a great downward trend in its diesel engine vehicles, while hybrids have multiplied by five and since the first generation of the Prius hybrid was launched in Spain, in the year 2000 , has registered a sales volume of 200,000 hybrids in the domestic market of the Toyota and Lexus brands.
