Arnold Clark gears up to open Aberdeen dealership

Arnold Clark is pushing ahead with plans to open a car dealership on a former supermarket site in Aberdeen.

The Evening Express reports that it aims to turn an ex-supermarket site in Aberdeen into a car dealership.

Proposals to turn the Lidl site on Torry’s Wellington Road into an Arnold Clark Volvo showroom were approved in 2017.

And the dealer group has now received approval to fit out the former discount supermarket store, which will include a showroom and a service workshop, and would increase the number of parking spaces on site to 105.

The new development is yards from the old Arnold Clark Service Centre on Girdleness Road, which was destroyed in a major fire in 2015.

Arnold Clark is rated four in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealre Groups with annual turnover of £3.9bn.
