New Delhi: Ford Motor Company on Wednesday issued a safety recall order for for certain 2019 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles equipped with lane-centering assist and adaptive front steering.
According to a Ford news release, about 2,700 new Lincoln Nautilus, which were built at Oakville Assembly Plant between September 2018 November 2018, may not adequately detect if a driver has his or her hands off the steering wheel.
If this occurs, the hands on/off detection system may not alert the driver to place his or her hands back on the steering wheel, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Ford confirmed that dealers will update the power steering control module software in affected vehicles.
However, the US automaker claimed that the company is unaware of any accidents or injuries resulting from this condition.
