Safety is one of the most important topics to a parent when it comes to their children. Whether it’s the child’s day-to-day safety at home, at school, at a park or most importantly their safety on the roads.
It is also important to the government of the UAE to ensure the safety of their residents. Earlier in 2017, a new law was set to motion: children under the age of 10 (and below 145 centimetres) are prohibited to sit in the front seat, and it is mandatory to have a child seat for children up to the age of four years old.
That’s why we have created a car type specifically to keep your child and your family safe.
Our Careem Kids cars come equipped with a top of the range, ISO-fixed, Cybex Sirona car seat provided by Mamas & Papas. The seats can be adjusted for newborns and are safe for kids up to four years of age, they are recognised to be 80 percent safer than any other brand or model. The seats were also awarded test winner by Germany’s leading consumer testing organization Stiftung Warentest.
Additionally, The seats have a 360-degree rotation system making them safe for infants under three months and easier for children to get in and out of.
The great thing is that you don’t need to worry about adjusting the seat yourself, Careem Kids captains are trained on how to alter them and on how to make sure kids are safe and comfortable. If you have more than one child, however, you will need to bring along a car seat for them as Careem cars are limited to one seat.
Careem Kids prices are in line with the economy service with a booking fee of only Dhs7.
Here is how you can use this service:
- Go on the Careem app and select Careem Kids from the car type menu.
- The nearest car will be matched with you and you’ll see the estimated fare and arrival time.
- Once your car arrives, Careem’s Captain will adjust the seats to your preference to make sure your child is safe while in the ride.
- The trip can be paid via credit card or cash.
