PSA is now also testing in China

The auto coalition PSA may now test the autonomous driving on the public roads of China.

So far, some Chinese companies and Western manufacturers are testing BMW. Mercedes Benz and ford in co-operation with Baidu the autonomous driving in China, Now comes the French carmaker PSA (Citroën and Peugeot).

It is the first company in France to receive a trial license for China. Already in the home country France PSA was one of the first manufacturers to test the technology in public transport in 2015. Specifically, the company obtained the permission to test in Chongqing, in the southwest of the country.

The tests also serve to approximate the local conditions and better evaluate the needs of the clientele there. In addition, PSA needs to adapt its technology to the Chinese ecosystem. This concerns above all the areas of the traffic infrastructure, the maps and the driving habits of the people there.

Increasingly, a trial license for China is more important than a trial license for the US. Because the market in China is larger than in the US, especially since there is no uniform regulation in the US.
