It is important to consider in the search: Families need space. That’s why we’re looking for a car that can accommodate at least four people and their luggage. A trip to the holiday should also be in it, so we aim for 15,000 kilometers a year. And also a second driver has to be able to control the car.
Is a family coach in the subscription a good deal? That depends on it: Since there are several family models, a leasing in the individual case and with long damage freedom can be cheaper. But with subscriptions, the costs are better to calculate. All subscriptions advertise with high flexibility and an all-inclusive rate: insurance, taxes, winter tires, maintenance and repairs are included. VW – Subscription a car

The market leader offers families in the tariff “Urban” the Golf Estate, the Octavia station wagon and the SUV T-Roc, With a term of twelve months, the monthly fee amounts to € 647.10, six months to € 674.10 – and anyone who wishes to be able to cancel every three months pays € 692.10. In the higher tariff “Family” are even VW Passat Variant, the VW Tiguan and the Skoda Superb Combi included. The surcharge per month for the higher vehicle class costs 45 euros a month.
2000 free kilometers per month are usually enough for families. Theoretically you can change between the vehicles monthly. The deductible of 800 euros for fully comprehensive insurance is in the industry average. And there is also no registration fee. With 7765 euros in the first year (at twelve months duration) VW is more expensive than the competition, where you land with less money already a vehicle class higher.
The minimum age of 21 years is easily suitable for families – however, the VW offer is only available in the pilot regions Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart.

Families who need a car all year round end up at the car rental company looking for a suitable subscription at the SixtFlat Nonstop, Four weeks for the category “urban” cost here 369 euros. This brings you to a monthly price of around 400 euros.
For this price you have the choice of several models. Opel Mocha X, Opel Astra, Seat Leon and Skoda Rapid with “extensive standard equipment” are probably included. There is no guarantee for the desired vehicle. And which motorization you get is also unclear.

It is a little cheaper at the Swedish competitor Volvo, In the flatrate offer “Care by Volvo” is a compact SUV XC40 with the smallest petrol engine for a price of 498 euros a month. The delivery time is extremely long at 24 to 36 weeks. So long that Volvo offers a mobility solution for the transition right at the time of ordering – for the same price, of course. A used car for a new car price, that’s not very convincing.

The desired 15,000 kilometers are included. Also with the flexibility Cluno can score. The minimum term is six months, the notice period is fair at three months. With three months’ advance, it is also possible to switch to another vehicle class.
However, Cluno requires a registration fee of 299 euros. An early exit does not pay off. And the fully comprehensive insurance is unattractive with a deductible of 1000 € compared to the competition. Overall, the cost of the station wagon in the first year adds up to 4217 euros.
