Halliwell Jones seeks more storage for Warrington dealership

Halliwell Jones BMW in Warrington has submitted planning applications to the local council to use derelict land to store 150 cars.

To be used on a temporary basis, the company proposes to use the land for a maximum of 2 years. The storage of 150 vehicles has been referred to as “the worst case scenario assuming a backlog of vehicles that cannot be processed by the dealership due to unforeseen issues”.

Halliwell Jones anticipates that a max of 70–80 vehicles will be stored at any one point, with an average of 15–20 vehicle movements per day. These trips are based on the number of vehicles that can be held at the dealership workshop.

The moving of vehicles to and from the site will be done using a flatbed car transporter (max 2 vehicles) or they will be driven individually to and from the site.

The company has no propose any alterations to the existing surface, boundary fencing, drainage or vehicular access.

The only changes will comprise temporary street lighting and CCTV for security.

The site is situated a few miles from the Halliwell Jones BMW dealership on Winwick road.
