More than 60% of Spanish drivers see a positive future for gasoline and diesel engines, according to a new study published by Mazda. The studyMazda Driver Projectin charge with Ipsos MORI- asked 11,008 people from the main European markets, and on average 58% believe that «there is still much innovation and improvements ahead for gasoline and diesel engines»; the figure reaches 65% in Poland and exceeds 60% in Germany and Sweden.
The overall results show that consumers do not necessarily share the view of many agencies that there is no place for the internal combustion engine in the future of automobiles.
On the other hand, 31% of drivers expect diesel vehicles to continue to exist despite the fact that electric vehicles are increasingly common, a percentage that reaches 58% in Poland; meanwhile, an average of 33% of the drivers indicated that, at the same maintenance cost as an electric vehicle, they would prefer a gasoline / diesel vehicle; in Italy, up to 54% expressed that opinion.
