Work has begun on a multi-million pound relocation for Stoneacre Motor Group Sheffield.
The new site on Penistone Road, Sheffield, is a £6m investment by the Group to improve facilities for customers.
The Volvo dealership will have a larger showroom and offer the Volvo Personal Service, which means that technicians will liaise with the customer from the point of booking.
David Warren, Volvo franchise director of Stoneacre Motor Group, said: “We are delighted work has begun on the new site in Sheffield, not least because this impressive development reflects our commitment to improving customer experiences and efficiency.
“This investment isn’t just about a change of furniture, it’s designed to make our customers feel relaxed and at ease in an environment that provides flexible waiting, working and assessment areas.
“2019 marks an exciting year for Volvo and Stoneacre, with the launch of the brand new S60 this month completing Volvo’s totally revised model range. After the record-breaking successes of our new models last year, we felt this was the perfect time to invest in an impressive new showroom and can’t wait for our customers to see the finished product.”
Stoneacre turned in a strong performance in the year to 28 April, 2018 with pre-tax profits up 33.9% to £10.6m on turnover up 9% to £786.3m.
In results filed at Comapnies House it said it continued to digest the businesses it had acquired during the year and had achieved its target of ensuring all acquired assets were earnings enhancing within 12 months of purchase.
Volvo Car UK recently launched Volvo Online, a sales service in which customers can purchase a car entirely online.
For now it will only be available in the UK.
Volvo has emphasised that the online platform is to function in collaboration with physical dealerships, with the option to contact a dealer available at any time during the process.
Currently orders are only available to collect from dealerships.
