The recent suspicion of another Manipulation of diesel emissions at the car manufacturer Daimler could, according to a report of “Bild am Sonntag” affect significantly more vehicles. As a Daimler spokesman confirmed, engines with the function in question are not only installed in sports SUVs of the GLK model series, but also in certain cars of the C, E and S class of Mercedes-Benz, of which much more on the roads are. Daimler does not consider the function to be illegal.
According to “Bild am Sonntag”, there is a special software function for the temperature control of the coolant circuit, which ensures that the nitrogen oxide limits are met on the test bench, but not on the road.
