The National Association of Counties (NACo) in the US wants to drive development and prepare communities.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) has a toolkit for the Connected and Autonomous driving provided to prepare the communities for the development of Autonomous Driving. These should be the appropriate ones infrastructure map and thereby push the development of technology.
The toolkit is designed to help those responsible for customizing the infrastructure. It provides a rough framework on which to incorporate further ideas. Because the development could be the living together, the transport within the cities and communes change a lot. A basic understanding of the authorities, city and traffic planers is essential.
The toolkit provided to communities consists of four key areas: technology, policies, delivery, and the next steps. The Technology section provides essential insights into autonomous vehicle technology and networking. The policy part sets the appropriate rules at federal, state, or local level.
The individual categories contain useful resources that can be used for the preparation. This includes data from projects such as Automated Vehicles for Safety of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the State Bill Tracking Database of the Autonomous Vehicles of the National Conference of State Legislature and NACo’s networked counties.
The toolkit provides insights and instructions on how to prepare for it. It goes beyond traffic and also deals with public safety or economic development.
