Before the big electric offensive gives the car maker Volkswagen Show stock market chart obviously still his stock of older E models. According to the most recent discount study of the CAR Institute of the University of Essen-Duisburg, the battery-powered e-Golf is currently being pushed into the market at high discounts. In the case of Internet retailers, the market observers have, according to their own statements, found several offers that come with the state subsidy to a final consumer price of just over 20,000 euros. The previously offered for 31,900 euros electric car currently lying below the list price of the cheapest gas burner Golfs.

Study leader Ferdinand Dudenhöffer suspects the upcoming market introduction of the E-Model ID 3 as a background for the discounts offered over the trade. The completely newly developed ID 3 is to be offered with its higher range of about 300 kilometers for around 30,000 euros, so that the previous e-Golf with 233 kilometers range no longer appears competitive. According to the institute, the discontinued model accounted for only 3.6 percent of all golf variants sold in Germany in the first eight months of this year. Even weaker, the plug-in hybrid Golf GTE has sold with a share of 0.1 percent.

Basically, the study found only a few changes in the discount offers compared to the previous month. In open advertised promotions, individual models with discounts of up to 36 percent (Seat Alhambra) are offered. For Internet retailers there are for self-configured 30 top models on average a discount of 18.8 percent on the list price. The rate of self-approvals on dealers and manufacturers has increased. The background here is that vehicles with the Euro 6c emissions standard could only be registered until the end of August.
