The manufacturer Volkswagen extends its partnership with Hamburg in terms of mobility.
The strategic partnership of Hamburg with the manufacturer Volkswagen was also for the ITS World Congress 2021 been closed. This partnership led to a test field for autonomous driving in Hamburg, at which Volkswagen automated its eGolfs has tested.
The cooperation has now been extended until 2022 and results in further tests. Furthermore, it is about e-mobility, networking and other mobility services. For example, the VW car sharing concept WeShare will also be represented in Hamburg next year. The fleet will be increased to more than 1,000 electric vehicles. Also MOIA will be expanded with 300 more vehicles.
The VW daughter MAN will also be autonomous trucks at the Container Terminal Altenwerder in cooperation with the forwarding company Jakob Weets. The experience gained so far with autonomous driving and traffic light networking in Hamburg will flow into the newly founded company VWAT one.
