The Chinese startup Pony.ai has some cooperation partners, including, for example, the Japanese manufacturer Toyota or the one that also comes from China AutoX, The company’s stated goal is to provide a robot taxi service provide,

Pony.ai was the first company in China to make this step a reality. California has also become active in this regard. Therefore cooperates with Hyundai and Via,

Together with the company ON Semiconductor, they now want to improve the camera sensors and image processing in order to use them in autonomous driving.

With the advancing development of image processing, camera sensors are becoming increasingly important for autonomous driving. Intel’s Mobileye recently went on an autonomous demonstration tour, where one only camera sensors had started.

Pony.ai’s reliance on ON Semiconductor may be due to the innovative solutions the company has in store. Radar, lidar and ultrasonic sensors are also available. Pony.ai is now increasingly using the semiconductor manufacturer’s chips for image recognition and processing.
