Toyota Blockchain Lab

Japanese manufacturer Toyota wants to focus more on blockchain technology.

Toyota founded the Toyota Blockchain Lab with his financial arm last year, where they push ahead with the integration of technology in the car. It allows a new communication structure to be established that enables secure data management and allocation.

The Blockchain technology, which most people know from Bitcoin, is decentralized and offers advantages in data tracking. This also protects against manipulation and is nevertheless not a central administration. It also speeds up communication and efficiency – and Toyota wants that for the car too.

There it could be used for financial products related to cars. Be it the purchase or rental of vehicles as well as the administration of the Vehicle data. The Toyota Blockchain Lab is designed to accelerate this development.

Also in the Woven City, the ‘Living Lab’ for living and mobility of the future, the technology is to be integrated.
