Car2go reaches 200,000 users in Madrid, 41% more in 2017

The company of temporary use of vehicles or car sharing has reached 200,000 members in Madrid, after just over two years since its launch.

As reported by car2go in a statement, Madrid is situated, in this way, as the second city with more users of the company in Europe, third in the world, only surpassed by Chongqing, in China, and Berlin.

In addition, it has become the first car sharing company of all those operating in Madrid to reach 200,000 users. Since entering the Spanish market in November 2015, Madrid has become the city that has obtained the largest increase in members across Europe, with 41% in 2017.

This trend is also being experienced at the corporate level, with a 52% growth in business customers in 2017. This increase translates into renting a car2go vehicle every 3.8 minutes in the capital. The 500 smart of the company have already traveled more than 20.3 million kilometers without polluting emissions through the streets of the capital.

The majority of car2go users are still men (65.5%), although the percentage of members has increased by more than 11% since its launch, reaching 34.5%. The average age of the users is maintained between 26 and 49 years, although there has been a slight increase of almost 3 percent among the most senior members, which already account for 17.5 of the total.
