INGOLSTADT (GERMANY), 7 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The automotive company Audi has signed on Wednesday an agreement with its Chinese partner FAW for the creation of two new companies for the sale of vehicles, as well as digital and mobility services, according to the German firm in a statement.

“With the establishment of the new independent sales company FAW-Audi, we will be able to launch our great product initiative in the coming years in optimal conditions, with faster decision-making processes”, assured the President of Audi China, Joachim Wedler .

The new distribution company will be a subsidiary of the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. The functions of the current Audi sales division within FAW-Volkswagen will be integrated into the new company.

Audi and its partner FAW-Volkswagen will continue to expand its portfolio in China in the future, both with imported models and locally produced in the Asian country. In the next five years, this offensive will include four purely electric models of Chinese manufacture.

In addition, Audi and FAW will create a new company for the distribution of digital and mobility services. Among other projects, the new mobility company will take over the premium mobility service ‘Audi on demand +’, which was launched in Beijing in September 2017.

“China is taking a pioneering role in terms of digitization, and in the future we will be able to respond to customer requests in this area more quickly and offer new concepts of digitization,” added Wedler.
