Geely & Caocao Chuxing: robot taxis from 2021

Another start-up from China is planning to launch the robot taxi service commercially: Caocao Chuxing.

AutoX has just started its robot taxi service in Shanghai. The start-up WeRide wants to start next year and Pony.ai wants to be ready for the market in five years. These startups are not the only ones and most are also active in the United States.

Now another company is added, that of the Chinese auto company Geely is supported. Caocao Chuxing plans to begin testing this summer and to transport passengers as early as next year. The necessary license has yet to be applied for.

The company’s fleet is to be expanded by ten vehicles in the summer. This is the Geometry model from the manufacturer Geely. On the occasion of the Asian Games in 2022, they want to be able to offer the autonomous driving service. For the provision one works with the transport service provider DeepRoute from Shenzhen, who has a stack at level 4.
