The Devel Sixteen was touted to be the hypercar of hypercars. With more than 5,000 hp of impervious output, the Sixteen could easily leave other hypercars in the dust. So far, Devel Motors has released two Sixteen concepts, both of which look amazing. Now, here’s a reimagination of the Sixteen that doesn’t come from Devel. It’s worth a glimpse, as it brings the looks of the Sixteen to a whole new level.
Not From Devel Motors
Dubbed the Devel Sixteen III, this concept is created by Mark Hostler, a graduate of transportation design at Staffordshire University. Specializing in 3D alias modeling and rendering, Holster has already created renders of different vehicles. This Devel Sixteen III is his personal project accomplished while the country is under lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Being a personal project, the Devel Sixteen III has no connection with Devel Motors. However, it is based on the first two (original) Sixteen concepts. The Sixteen III, however, placed greater emphasis of high speed stability and cooling. It also features more sharp-angled surfaces, as seen on fighter jets.
A Black Aerodynamic Menace
Much of the Devel Sixteen III’s exterior is made from carbon, steel and aluminum, with a carbon-fiber passenger cell. Much of the bodywork is wrapped in a satin metallic black finish, as complemented by aerodynamic elements naked forged carbon composite. These elements include a massive rear diffuser that allows for adjustable downforce thanks to separate upper and lower sections.
Anodized bright red highlights are found on the center lock wheel nuts, wheel spokes and filler cap. The Devel Sixteen III also comes with large front and rear overhangs that allows for high-speed aerodynamic stability and greater downforce. Large air intakes are on front, sides and roof. Even the carbon fiber wheels features vanes that can pull cooling air to the brake discs.
Fascinating Sixteen Concept
Meanwhile, the cabin of the Devel Sixteen III is more focused than the two original Sixteen concepts, thanks to minimal controls, Alcantara seats, digital dials, a carbon steering wheel, wheel-mounted paddles, and an 11-inch, high resolution screen. While this is a just a rendering, Holster has been really detailed. I’m hoping Devel Motors can borrow cues from this fascinating concept.
