Toyota carmaker Toyota has marketed more than 16 million vehicles worldwide with the Toyota Safety Sense package of safety systems, which was introduced in 2015, the company said in a statement.
The company stressed that the Toyota Safety Sense has made it possible to “democratize safety”, since it reaches most of its product range. Thus, this pack is present in different models in 108 countries, compared to the 68 regions in which it was marketed in 2015.
Version 2.5 of the Toyota Safety Sense makes its debut in the European market in the new Toyota Yaris Electric Hybrid, which is currently marketed in the pre-sale mode and with online reservation and which will arrive in the Spanish market in September.

The car company stressed that the introduction of this technology contributes to strengthening road safety and reducing the number of traffic accidents and victims, as part of its strategy aimed at improving society and caring for people.
The intention of the firm is to increase “exponentially” the number of its vehicles that mount the Toyota Safety Sense, whose first generation included the Pre-Collision Safety System with pedestrian detection, the Involuntary Lane Change Warning and the Intelligent Control of Traffic Lights. Highway.
The second generation of the Toyota Safety Sense was launched at the end of 2017 and had more sensors, which made it possible to detect pedestrians both during the day and at night and also cyclists during the day. In addition, it also incorporated the Path Maintenance System and expanded the functions of the Traffic Sign Recognition System.
The latest version of this package of safety systems is already being assembled in different models and its novelties include the Pre-Collision Safety System with detection of pedestrians by day and night and cyclists during the day, automatic emergency braking and detection intersection obstacles, full-range Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Also part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 are the trajectory maintenance system, the intelligent control of high beams and the assistance to the steering in emergency maneuvers, the rear cross traffic alert and the parking assistance with automatic braking function.
