The registrations of passenger cars and SUVs stood at 29,470 units in the first two weeks of August (from August 3 to 17), which represents an increase of 11.4% compared to the same days of the previous year.
According to data from the National Association of Sellers of Motor Vehicles, Repair and Parts (Ganvam) to which Europa Press had access, the demand for cars is recovering compared to the previous year, following restrictions on mobility by the state alarm and in a traditionally low volume month.
So far this month, August 6 was the day that accumulated the highest volume of passenger car and SUV registrations, with 3,229 units sold (+ 29.4%), while last Monday the 17th was the one with the least activity, with 1,888 registrations (+ 17%).
In the accumulated of the month until August 17, the company channel registered an increase in sales of 5.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, while deliveries to individuals rose 8.7% and the channel of renters rises 67.2%.
On the other hand, the Spanish market for new light commercial vehicles has fallen by 12%, with a volume of 5,309 units. By channels, deliveries to companies fell 23.2%, those to individuals grew 5.1% and those of ‘rent a car’ fell 1.1%.
In addition, truck and bus registrations reached a volume of 608 units until last Monday, 9% more, with increases of 7.4% in the business channel and 13.3% in that of renters. Motorcycle sales, for their part, increased 41.4% so far this month, to 10,110 units.
