Europa Press: The Volkswagen group decreases its sales worldwide by 4.9% in October and accumulates a fall of 17% 000898

The Volkswagen car group registered 903,200 vehicles worldwide in October, which is a 4.9% drop compared to the 950,100 units it sold in the same month in 2019.
According to data published this Friday by the company, so far this year Volkswagen delivered 7.40 million cars, which implies a decrease of 17.3% when compared to the more than 8.95 million vehicles that it registered in everyone between January and October of the previous year.
By markets, in Western Europe the German consortium sold 280,500 vehicles in October, 6.4% less, while accumulating a fall of 25.1% this year, with 2.36 million units.
In Central and Eastern Europe the firm registered 65,300 vehicles last month, 7.7% less, as well as 545,400 cars until October, 17.3% less. In addition, Volkswagen sold 72,500 vehicles in North America in October, 9.8% less, and 621,500 units so far this year, 20.7% less.

Volkswagen’s sales in South America fell 1.6% in October (53,000 units) and 22.6% in the first ten months of 2020 (387,600 units). In China, the automobile consortium registered 376,500 cars last month, 3.3% less, and 3.03 million units until October, 9.2% less.
In the rest of Asia and the Pacific, Volkswagen deliveries increased by 3.3% in October (25,200 units), but decreased by 9% so far this year (218,000 units), while in the Middle East and Africa they fell by 4 , 1% in October (30,300 units) and 14.2% between January and October (235,500 units).
SCANIA AND SEAT, THE BRANDS THAT FALL THE MOST
By brand, the Volkswagen firm sold 521,100 vehicles worldwide in October, 7.4% less, while it accumulated deliveries of 4.19 million cars so far this year, 17.4% less.
Audi registered 163,800 cars last month, up 9.8%, although its sales fell 10.3% through October to 1.35 million units. Skoda delivered 98,300 cars worldwide in October, 6.6% less, as well as 820,200 units so far this year, 19.5% less.
Seat fell 11.4% in October (38,900 units) and 28.7% in the accumulated of the current year (355,800 units), as did Porsche, which decreased its sales by 8.8% last month (23,300 units ) and 5.7% in the first ten months of this year (214,900 units).
For its part, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sold 35,600 units in October (-10.4%) and 307,700 units so far this year (-24.9%), while MAN sold 12,800 vehicles last month (-1.1 %) and 92,700 units until October (-21%).
Scania was the Volkswagen group brand that fell the most in October, 19.4% less, with 7,700 units, while so far this year it cut its sales by 34.2%, with 55,400 vehicles.
Other brands in the group, including Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti, increased their worldwide registrations by 15.5% in October, to 1,700 units, and decreased by 2.1% year-to-date, to 14,800 units.
