200,000 electric audis until 2021 Audi CEO Stadler sets high electrical targets

Audi A8: In the future only electric?
The Ingolstadt-based car manufacturer Audi Show stock market chart wants to sell significantly more electric cars in the next few years than previously known. “We want to sell around 200,000 electric cars by 2021,” he saidAudi CEO Rupert Stadler to the manager magazin in an interview (release date: March 23).
Stadler relies above all on China in the electric offensive. There the company wants to sell half a million electric cars in 2025. Audi offers so far no purely electrically driven vehicles. As the first model, the e-tron will go on sale at the end of this year.
Sports car TT and flagship A8 possibly only electric
The electro-offensive could also lead to radical model changes. The Audi top think about it to offer both the sports car TT and the brand flagship A8 in the next generation only with electric drive, it says in the Volkswagen Group. Both models would then be based on a common electrical architecture with Porsche Show stock market chart built. A decision had not yet fallen. Stadler did not comment on this.
Audi was clearly behind the southern German rivals Mercedes and BMW Show stock market chart fallen behind. However, Stadler emphasized that the joint electric platform with Porsche will provide Audi with clear advantages over its direct competitors in the future. A joint brand group with Porsche rejected the Audi boss, however. “We are already working very closely together at the decisive points,” explains Stadler. “This works well even without brand groups.”
Audi intends to finance the electric offensive with, among other things, an attack and transformation plan, which will save and redeploy a total of 10 billion euros. Stadler announced that they are also counting on higher revenues. He cited digitization as an example. “With our digital business, we want to make one billion euros in profits per year by 2025,” said the Audi CEO.
