Washington The Daimler truck subsidiary has accepted a fine of up to 30 million dollars in the USA for handling a product recall. Daimler Trucks North America will have to pay ten million dollars directly, the US traffic safety authority NHTSA announced on Thursday. She accuses Daimler of recalling vehicles too late and not having submitted all the necessary reports. Daimler has to invest five million dollars in programs that are supposed to help in the discovery of possible security gaps.
Should Daimler fail to keep to the agreements, there was a further $ 15 million penalty. “We appreciate that we can settle the matter,” said Daimler Trucks. The company focuses on building safe, efficient and reliable vehicles.
