The tool allows a user to know which vehicles are available for rent around him, and for how long, by scanning his environment with his smartphone. Approaching with the application, it becomes possible to start a rental thanks to the technologies embedded in the vehicle. “When carsharing between private individuals, the problem is that cars are not visible like Autolib. You have to go to a search engine and follow maps to identify them, “says the boss of Koolicar.

350,000 tenants and owners

After the CES, “this feature will be in the hands of a number of our customers to see how they adopt it,” says Stéphane Savouré. At present, between 4,000 and 5,000 cars are available for rent on Koolicar. The start-up founded in 2011 boasts 350,000 tenants and vehicle owners.
