Of the fatal accident of a robotic car in Arizona has sparked a heated debate: how good or how dangerous are autonomous vehicles? Because despite a variety of sensors, the Uber test car for a woman not slowed down, Even in a Tesla accident authorities determine whether the self-drive mode carries a share of responsibility.

The fact is: despite Lidar, radar and cameras, robotic cars are still inferior to humans in some traffic situations. In other cases, the systems are significantly better than the eyes and ears.

Using specialist literature and statements from engineers and scientists, we have determined in which driving situations robotic cars already perform better than human drivers – and where they are still significantly older.
