It will be called the Audi Charging Hub and will have an innovative design to enhance the driver experience.
One of the main current barriers for the electric vehicle continues to be the lack of charging infrastructure. To blame this limitation, the automotive sector as a whole is working on new solutions that facilitate the expansion of electric mobility. The latest example is at Audi. The firm is already developing a new concept of charging stations for electric cars.
As confirmed by the brand, these new stations will receive the name of Audi Charging Hub. The new concept will go along the lines of audi’s bet by electrification. Its roadmap states that it will launch up to 20 new 100% electric models by 2025.
To accompany sales, from the second half of 2021, it will work on the Audi Charging Hub. These are spaces with an innovative and creative design where the driver can recharge his electric vehicle. The first pilot project, which will start this year, will focus on flexibility and sustainability, with various high-power charging stations.
The driver of this type of vehicle will only have to reserve his load and go to the station. Once there, Audi also wants to improve the user experience by turning that recharging pause into a moment of relaxation. To do this, it will incorporate premium rest areas in the stations.
Fast charges and with environmental benefits
In addition, Audi also works for stations to use second-hand batteries. In this way, the circular economy would be applied and a second life would be given to batteries whose use can be extended over time. The station itself would also bet on sustainability since it would be a fully efficient building.
As explained, the Audi Charging Hub will have up to 6 ultra-fast charging points. In this way, a driver can recharge his vehicle in just a few minutes. It remains to be seen how its expansion in Europe will be and other news that the brand also announces for this new concept.
