Read Motor Group has acquired Derby-based Beechdale Motor Group for an undisclosed sum.
Beechdale has been in business since 1982, operated by John Oldfield. It holds the Hyundai, Alfa Romeo and Jeep franchises.
Accounts filed at Companies House saw it deliver pre-tax profits of £266,875 on turnover of £29.9m in the year to October 2020.
In June Alfa Romeo UK named Beechdale Motor Group as its Retailer of the Year.
Last year saw Beechdale climb the rankings with excellent customer satisfaction scores.
It also delivered the highest sales volumes across the UK Alfa Romeo network, strongly performing against sales targets and exceeding expectations, particularly against Quadrifoglio targets.
Read Motor Group, which holds the Hyundai, MG and Suzuki franchises, is rated 155 in the Motor Trader Top 200 with annual turnover of £66.2m.
Read Motor Group MD Mike Read said on LinkedIn: “Following the acquisition of Beechdale Motor Group we are delighted to welcome the Derby team to the Read family group.
“This further strengthens our very close partnership with Hyundai UK and takes us on a new adventure with amazing brands, new to group, in Alfa Romeo and Jeep.”
