The Mean Metal Motors Azani will come with specs like 1,000 horsepower, 325 miles of range, 0-60 mph in 2.1 seconds, and a top speed of 220 mph

The paradigm shift to EVs has resulted in the birth of many new companies that probably wouldn’t have had the chance if not electrification. Forget about big shots like Rivian and Bollinger; I’m talking about companies like Alpha Motors, Elation, and Electra, to name a few. Another company to climb the wagon is an Indian startup called Mean Metal Motors. MMM has taken the same course as most EV startups; build an electric hypercar. The MMM Azani comes with Model S Plaid-rivaling specs like 1,000 horses, 220 mph top speed, 0-60 mph in 2.1 seconds, etc.
The Azani Looks Very Impressive On Paper
Mean Metal Motors isn’t exactly a new company as it previewed a hybrid concept car back in 2015 called the M-Zero. It was touted as India’s first supercar. Fast-forward to 2021, MMM seems to have shifted its focus to an electric hypercar that comes with some seriously impressive specs.
The Azani will be underpinned on a Skateboard aluminum spaceframe with a carbon fiber driver tub and aluminum load-bearing crumple zones.
This hybrid chassis is built keeping in mind future products. There’s no word on how many electric motors it comes with, but the total power output will be 1,000 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of twist. The Azani will be able to sprint to 60 mph from rest in 2.1 seconds and will have a top speed of 220 mph.
Powertrain | Electric |
---|---|
Power | 1,000 HP |
Torque | 738 LB-FT |
0 to 60 mph | 2.1 seconds |
Top Speed | 220 mph |
Battery | 120 kWh |
Range | 325 miles |
The hypercar will feature a 120 kWh battery pack that’s good for 325 miles.
To put things into perspective, Tesla’s flagship product, the Model S Plaid, churns out 1,020 horses from its tri-motor setup, can sprint to 60 mph in 1.99 seconds, has a top speed of 200 mph, and comes with an EPA-estimated range of 396 miles.
Apart from this, the Mean Metal Motors Azani will come with a double-wishbone suspension setup with adaptive damping, ventilated carbon braking, torque vectoring, and an electronic power steering, to name a few. Other interesting stuff includes:
- Augmented Reality Displays
- M-Log Integration
- Advanced Morphing Seats
- Advanced AI Module
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Advanced Telematics
- Over-the-air Updates
MMM has noted that the Azani will be a high-tech car in terms of features and the production aspect. The website says the hypercar can be built anywhere as it makes use of 100 times fewer components, is four times cheaper to build, and offers twice the margin. This information is provided on the website for the investors.
Conclusion
There’s no word on the price or the debut of the actual Azani. For now, the company is accepting reservations and looking for investors. Do you think MMM is going to deliver on it up to its word and roll out the Azani with the same specs, or has it bitten more than it can chew? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
