Here’s Everything We Know About The Tachyon Speed – HotCars

It’s a known fact that many new companies are coming up with unique cars. However, a majority is not only hazardous to the vehicle, but it can also endanger our health as a whole with the exhaust pipes that deplete the ozone layer, but only a few have been able to revolutionize the car industry. That’s where the RAESR (Rice Advanced Engineering Systems and Research) tachyon, commonly called the “tachyon speed”; or “Racer” (just like the acronym RAESR), comes into play.

It was manufactured and founded by a man named Eric Rice and hence named after him. He started production in 2014 in Los Angeles, California, under the industry called Automotive.

Let’s take a brief history of how “The Racer” was manufactured and the idea behind it.

Eric Rice, the company’s owner, was at his gym in Los Angeles, drawing a basic early version of the car, which looked like a jet fighter fuselage in 2012. This encouraged him to build the car, and he started with the chassis production and was able to work together with an intellectual team of engineers, designers, consultants, and craftsmen.

They came by the name tachyon based on the hypothetical scientific meaning of a particle that travels faster than light. The word tachyon is coined from the Greek word “tachus,” which means “fast.”

The striking feature of the car is that it is an electric car; it uses batteries and can be recharged from time to time instead of the archaic use of fuel that is hazardous to the world and polluting the environment.

The batteries altogether are almost 6ft wide and located at the front wheelbase of each side of the car, so this electric car gives it an edge of being one of the new technology and improvement and helps against the incessant engine knock commonly found in fuel-filled cars.

The car’s exceptional capability is based on its high-powered battery that can move at a very high speed, giving it an edge compared to others. Another notable feature about the car, which is also one of the significant specs commonly researched by car enthusiasts, is horsepower and car weight. So the car weighs about 2950 pounds which is around 1338kg, and an incredible 1250 horsepower, which brings the ratio between the weight and horsepower closely to about 1:1, which helps to deliver swift super speed and agility when in motion.

It has 6 total independent direct-drive electric motors with each motor delivering about 300hp giving a total of 1250 hp. 4 of the electric motors power the back wheel with 2 motors powering each wheel, and the remaining 2 electric motors power the front wheel with each of the front wheels powered by a motor. The reason for the absurd low weight will be described in the design section.

The car is also quiet when in motion, unlike most other cars that give the revving sound when ignited. This sound is produced because of its fuel usage, unlike this electric car which only gives a kind of fighter jets sound because of the cooling systems that include a high-powered fan that helps with the cooling of the batteries, the motors, and the motor controllers.

With the batteries fully charged, it can go about 150 miles and an enormous amount of torque of 3,950 lbs which is around 3,650 lbs/ft of torque. The power source is a 532 VDC( vehicle dynamic control) of a 2,650 AMP battery giving off about 1.4 megawatts of power and estimated to reach nil to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds; this is exhilarating.

It’s estimated to reach a top speed of about 240-250 mph and can reach one-quarter mile within 10 seconds, and It’s of a pure f1 style similar to the f1 Caparo T1 with a long wheelbase wide track of 80.5 inches, a length of 195 inches and a height of 40.5 inches.

The car is a double seater with the driver seat right in the middle of the car and the passenger seat right behind it. It has 2 major canopies called the “double clamshell,” which opens separately with the controller found on the de-attachable steering wheel. The car also has controller buttons located at the passenger seat with the right button box for motion control and the left button box for lighting. It has the user’s variants of ride heights in relation to the street mode.

The car’s charging port is located at the backside of the car. It’s also been popularly said that the power of electricity generated by this car can power up a whole village of over 500 households. The car makes use of high-performance brake pads sourced from race cars which are carbon-ceramic brakes.

The tachyon speed can give outstanding aerodynamic systems of four non-adjustable front wings and an adjustable rear wing that can give over 1,000 lbs in low downforce and likewise for high downforce setting.

The car is manufactured so that it looks like a spaceship or a kind of fighter jet style canopy. The body frame-work is made of exterior carbon fiber aluminum body pan and interior decoration of Tub-Kevlar, which gives it a lightweight ability to proportionate with the car’s speed.

The CEO, Eric Rice, said the starting price for the car model is from €616,000 upwards based on modification to buyer’s taste.

The car has gone into several testing and was approved after checking for various precautions such as the braking and lighting, adjustable aero flaps on the rear wing, adjustable traction control, and many other safety precautions that gave the car credibility and license to be used on the road.

This car is also known to be one of the future electric hypercars; it sure has a promising future.
