Kodiak Robotics launches autonomous truck route in USA

The startup Kodiak Robotics drives a route for autonomous trucks in the US state of Oklahoma.

the Automation of the truck is the trend in the US. Not only is there a shortage of drivers, freight volumes have increased and efficiency has increased thanks to autonomous driving. There are some startups in the USA that are dedicated to the topic. Kodiak Robotics is one of them. Now the company has presented a new delivery route for autonomous trucks.

The young company masters the route in cooperation with CEVA Logistics. She leads from Dallas and austin from Texas to Oklahoma City. These are the first heavy trucks to drive their freight autonomously to Oklahoma. The tests for this were completed in November 2021 with weekly freights on the 200-mile route between Dallas Airport and Austin.

The Interstate 35 used is one of the busiest freight routes in the United States. For safety, one person stays behind the wheel of the autonomous truck. The vehicles are equipped with lidar (from Luminar and Hesai), radar and cameras to cover an all-round view.

Kodiak Robotics works with financiers such as BMW or Bridgestone.
