New ways of working and transformations in customer demand have caused dealership facilities to change according to current needs. We do not let see changes in the physical rooms of the distributors opting for more modern rooms and adapted to today’s reality. The latest example is the Lookers dealership group which has adapted its Manchester headquarters into a collaboration hub for employees. So have been their changes!
The goal of the redesign has been to build a flexible workspace that allows collaboration among dealership employees. The new center has both creative and open spaces as well as other private ones. In addition, a cafeteria called “The Pit Stop” has been added, which aims to reflect a new, more modern and advanced way of working.
Another of the great novelties is that an Electric Mini has been added to the center of the room, making a clear nod to new forms of mobility. Along these lines, 12 new recharging points have also been added in the parking area to facilitate this infrastructure for both employees and visitors.

Chris Whitaker, Lookers’ chief people officer, says that with these changes, “we wanted a new space that accurately reflected the Lookers culture and spirit and who we are today. An ambitious, technology-driven, forward-thinking company.”
The pandemic: a before and after
“During the pandemic, we perfectly adapted to working from home and now we are adapting once again to the Hybrid Work Policy. Our new center provides flexibility to the employees in the place where they work since they can interact with their colleagues, work privately…”.
It is one more example of the rise of the technique of hot desking within the dealership sector. It is a perfect formula to redistribute the space with tables for team and individual work. Thus, a collaborative environment is created where colleagues can work together according to the projects in which they are involved. Or, if they prefer, be in an area of the office where they can work quietly because they need to concentrate.
