Weldon Lister is a third generation engraver, working since 1979. All his work is done by hand using a hammer & chisel. Primarily trained as a firearms engraver, Weldon apprenticed with his father, “Big Bill” Lister who in addition to being a Master Engraver, was also a country music star in the 1950’s. Big Bill was on the Grand Ole Opry and worked as Hank Williams’ front man. Weldon is a member of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America, where he holds Master certification. He is also listed in the Colt archives as a Master engraver. His work is held in numerous private collections and museums across the USA and in several foreign countries as well.
Weldon and his engraving have been featured in several books and magazines such as Garden & Gun, Texas Monthly, and Cowboys & Indians. In 2021, Weldon formed American Scroll inc, created as a lifestyle brand based on his hand-drawn, scroll art.
American Scroll has license agreements with A&E’s Duck Dynasty’s Uncle Si, The Alamo; Texas Ranger 2023, and Luckenbach Texas. American Scroll apparel is available online and at select retail locations around Texas, including The Alamo Gift Shop, The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, and throughout Luckenbach Texas.
Driver Brennan Poole is looking forward to racing at his home track. “I love going home to Texas and racing. It’s special to race in front of your home crowd and feel their support. It’s even cooler to have Uncle Si and American Scroll on the car for the race weekend.”
Crew Chief Ryan Bell knows Texas Motor Speedway well, having worked with Poole here before. “Brennan and I worked together for the first time, at Texas Motor Speedway, in 2018. We had a very strong night, and I look forward to another great run with the MHR American Scroll Chevrolet. Having the chance to represent such an amazing company and showcase Brennan’s talents, will make Texas a very special weekend for this race team.”
