A 2007 Spyker C8 Laviolette With 4,200 Miles For Sale By Auction – HotCars

Bring a Trailer is a great online auction house. Quite regularly, there are some fascinating and rare cars that crop up for sale on the site. These range from classic muscle cars, to rare sports cars and more. This particular car is a brilliant and very rare sports car. It is a 2007 Spyker C8 Laviolette with just 4,200 miles on the clock and is one of the six Basic Instinct 2 editions of the car built.

A Rare And Interesting Spyker C8

The car is also the only example delivered from the factory with the Targa roof system. The car was first registered in New York and then Montana before a sale on Bring a Trailer brought it into the hands of the current seller, in February 2020.

The car is in Jet Black, as were all the Basic Instinct 2 editions as a tribute to the car that appeared in the 2006 film. And inside the car, complimenting the black nicely, is Lipstick Red leather upholstery. The Spyker C8 also has a canopy-style, glass-paned roof as well as an integrated, polished aluminum intake.

A Lot Of Aluminum

The bodywork is all aluminum on this Spyker, and there is an aluminum space frame too. This car also has widebody specification body panels, a front air splitter, xenon headlights, clamshell front hood and a polished rear diffuser. Scissor doors and polished air intakes on the quarter panels are another highlight. The removable Targa roof system was also a $16k option.

Inside the Spyker C8 is that Lipstick Red interior with a matching dashboard, center console and door sills. There are also added black suede accents on the seats and door panels, as well as a custom sound system. The car has keyless entry, electrically operated doors and air conditioning.

Audi Power Sits Under The Hood

Under the hood of this very special car is a mid-mounted, 4.2-liter Audi V8 engine. This engine features dual overhead camshafts and five valves per cylinder too. The engine has 400 hp and produces 354 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the rear wheels thanks to a Getrag six-speed manual transaxle with a Drexler limited slip differential.

As part of the sale, the car will also come with tools, an aluminum-bound owner’s manual, a report from Jasper den Dopper, a European-market steering wheel and battery charger to name just a few extras.
