Regional asset manager Matthews Asia has appointed Cooper Abbott as CEO while Citi Private Bank has named Hannes Hofmann as the global head of the family office group.
Matthews Asia appoints new CEO
Regional asset manager Matthews Asia has appointed Cooper Abbott as the chief executive officer, according to an announcement.
Cooper succeeds William Hackett, who retires as CEO and member of the Board of Directors on June 30, 2022.
Most recently, Cooper served as president and chairman at Carillon Tower Advisors where he founded and built a global multi-boutique asset management company providing equity, fixed income and multi-asset class solutions to institutional and retail investors.
Matthews Asia claims to be the largest dedicated Asia investment specialist in the US with approximately $18.3 billion in AUM as of May 31, 2022.
Citi names global family office group head
Citi Private Bank has appointed Hannes Hofmann as the global head of the family office group, per a finews.asia report.
Hofmann reports to Citi’s global head of private banking Ida Liu. He succeeds James Holder who will remain with the bank and take on the new role of cluster head for Europe.
Before joining Citi, Hannes worked at JP Morgan where he had extensive private banking experience in Asia.
