The market leader for luxury sedans has been the S-Class from Mercedes-Benz. Highly automated driving according to Level 3, in which the driver hands over responsibility to the vehicle, will only be activated by BMW in about a year and a half.

This year, every fourth car from Dingolfing should have an electric drive, and every second car by the middle of the decade. The batteries and electric motors are also manufactured in Dingolfing. 2,300 employees now work in e-drive construction. Dingolfing is the largest BMW factory in Europe. 245,000 cars rolled off the assembly line there last year.
