Named and charged: Every drink drive suspect caught in Nuneaton, Southam and on M40 and M42 – Coventry Live

Nine people have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink and drugs in Warwickshire over the weekend. Warwickshire Police has revealed the number of arrests it has made since July 1.

One followed a van reportedly being driven erratically on the M42.

The force arrested nine drivers, five of which have since been charged with drink-driving offences and will appear in court.

Those who have been charged are as follows:

  • Junior Brown, 37, from Wiggington Gardens, Tamworth, was charged with drink-driving after officers responded to a report of a van being driven erratically. He is also alleged to have assaulted a lorry driver on the hard shoulder of the motorway. He was also charged with common assault.
  • Jordan Galland, 28, of Lister Road, Atherstone, was charged with drink-driving after officers stopped a car in Croft Road, Nuneaton, in the early hours of Saturday morning after being concerned about the manner in which it was being driver.
  • Samuel Zaparanuik, 28, from Mallard Close, Southam, was charged with drink-driving after officers stopped a speeding vehicle in Warwick Road, Leamington.
  • Julie Evans, 55, from Chaytor Drive, Nuneaton, was charged with drink-driving following a two-vehicle collision in Queen Elizabeth Road, Nuneaton, on Sunday afternoon.

  • George Roswell, 27, from Herne Hill, London, was arrested and charged with failing to provide a specimen after a car was stopped for speeding on the M40 in the early hours of yesterday morning (July 5).

Other arrests

On Saturday morning (July 2), officers responded to a report of someone breaking into a house in Arbury Road, Nuneaton, and then stealing a van from the property. They located the suspect, a 32-year-old man from Coventry, in Bantam Grove, Coventry, and arrested him on suspicion of burglary, taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and drink driving. He was taken into custody for questioning.

A 37-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a two-vehicle collision in Tunnel Road, Nuneaton, on Saturday afternoon.

On Monday night (July 4) officers stopped a car in Coventry Road, Bedworth, after concerns it was being driven erratically. A 49-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and later bailed while enquiries continue.
