First Release Of Nine Community-Driven Smart Vehicle Designs
The automotive industry can be traced back to 100 years ago. For the past one century, the mode of vehicles basically stays the same without any fundamental changes. The similar cars are running all over the streets.
Even nowadays, we’re forced to use the off-the-shelf cars with the same look, interior and settings. Isn’t is a boring thing? We, as the end user, are not participating in any process of defining the car which we drive on daily basis.
Whether it’s traditional OEMs or new-emerging car manufacturers, their whole process from vehicle definition, design to product development is completely closed. As the next-gen innovator, PIX Moving believes that innovation should be as diverse as rainforests instead of being secluded like the pyramid.
That’s where the story begins
We founded the DeAuto community powered by PIX ultra-skateboard chassis platform, and the first collaborative hackathon was organized to explore the decentralized automotive making adventure driven by the community efforts. We envision an automotive community where the privacy and data of vehicles and robotics products are protected and owned by the individuals, where low-carbon manufacturing, democratic technology and user-participated creation are treated as the core values.
After 31 days of open innovation, the first DeAuto Hackathon practice has drawn to a satisfactory end where pioneers from 11 countries have witnessed the 1st “decentralized auto making” revolution in the Metaverse for the very first time in the 100-year history of the automotive industry.

As a vehicle for a new world defined by the Meta technology, the design is generated by AI and then improved by the designers.
The vehicle meets the hardware constraints, and meanwhile remains futuristic and functional. It consists of modular connection ports that users can connect to different modular accessories such as drones, cargo pods, and even automatic vending equipment. It’s open source which allows users to reprogram for more possibilities, making the vehicle not only a great tool for personal transportation, but also good fit for business and educational purposes.

The L7e electric vehicle design of team project-horizon is modular and extensible. It aims to create more added values for the compact electric car so that it can solve real-life problems and enhance the relationship between the human and vehicle.
The modular design concept lies in the different function modules that users can switch manually, adding a touch of DIY delight to the journey. The car is equipped with a range of modular custom boxes to enable the quick switch in between the different function uses within one single vehicle. Individuals can convert their vehicles into lounge, cafe, small shops etc., businesses can turn the car into library, public bathroom, personal shelter and more.
One interesting example: a family may drive the car to a great camping site in the morning and convert the vehicle into a small van with bathroom and kitchen at noon. Through the modular functionalities, more use scenarios have been created for the residents, bringing added values to the end users.

“Autobots, Transform and Roll Out!” This line from movie Transformers has planted a seed in many people’s hearts and most of them have fantasized about having a robot friend when they were a kid. How fun life will be if their car would have hands and feet just like the Transformer.
The car designed by the NEBULAS team creatively integrated the robotic arm into the vehicle, resulting in endless possibilities: maybe it shouldn’t be defined as a car, it might be the next Bumblebee (or Decepticon).
A lot of robotics elements have been considered during the vehicle design process. The robotic arm can be used for picking up fruits in the orchard, or assisting in camping site setup when a group people are going outdoors. The robotic arm can also support in changing the modules in a faster way.
Besides the robotic arm, swarm intelligence for robotics is also one of the key features. The fleet/swarm management algorithms enable the dynamic interaction and connection between different vehicles. Combined with the path planning and fleet control of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle algorithms, the vehicles will be able to automatically form into groups and head to the destination, which will be an amazing group travel experience.

Huniqa! The first-ever, crowd-sourced, decentralized car sharing service that is tailored to the user’s unique style and needs. Every aspect of the user’s experience with the design, both digital and physical, and from interior to the exterior, can be customized from a selected collection voted by you and the community.
The frame of the car is made through a novel, robotic 3D printing fabrication system. This allows for the easily swappable body panel kits that the user owns and changes not only for the look of the car but also allows the possibility for the increased interior volume and function. From the urban commuter to the city fashionista, and even the outdoor explorer can find body panel customizations through PIX Hub that suits their needs and styles.
The same thing can be said for the interior of the car, where the user is greeted by a digital ring that reflects the exterior styling and mood lights that can be changed and upgraded by the user’s mood. Every component of the interior can be customized and upgraded in its colors and materials.

Design Concept
As autonomous driving technology advances, team Omega expects the automotive industry to incorporate more humanized and emotional design elements in the future. Vehicles will no longer be just a means of transportation, instead, they’ll be more like smart assistants that people can actively interact with and even cultivate bondings similar to the relationship between human and pet.
The Omega concept is a smart electric robot car inspired by the lovable movie characters WALL-E and Eve. The robot car is created as a creature to communicate with humans and other vehicles. Animated headlights can indicate status and imitate facial expressions. The symmetrical door design reduces costs while promoting sustainability. The internal CMF is designed to have a bionic touch.
Since it takes a long time to make different biomimetic materials manually, team Omega proposed an idea of using artificial intelligence to quickly generate a large number of texture patterns meeting the bionics design concept. While AI can’t yet create a complete vehicle design, it does give us multiple alternatives and inspiration for tasks like texturing.

In a world where all kinds of things are happening: pandemic, war, violence, shootings…
The design concept of team B6π2♾ is to create a soul vehicle (AI-Robot FOX) to solve the troubles in the world and protect the user’s body and heart, also to guard solitude and dreams, and to protect people’s families, beloved ones and the social network.
The vehicle renders a space for inner peace and enables the uses to explore the outer world as freely as Bell (Grylls).

Concept “X” is a mobile workstation designed for metaverse designers, which combines workspace and self-driving cars. With the gradual popularization of metaverse working mode, designers can drive their cars working in the street corner of the city or on the beautiful seaside, instead of working in the office.
The exterior is inspired by the power bank and space probe which provide a science fiction and high-performance sense. The interior includes driving space and working space. The driving area gives user the feeling of piloting a spacecraft with better view and vertical dashboard. The working area provides a tablet and a powerful PC which allow user to use VR, conduct design works and even play PC games.

Have you ever thought about the main theme of the future? Yeah: increasing environmental pollution, daily routine and rituals, growing distancing between humans…..
But that’s not all!
The popularity of online interactive behaviors such as NFT and live broadcast, the trending new energy vehicle industry, the tight integration of virtuality, interaction, environmental protection and energy… Team ALL IN 3.0 is adopting a whole new way to explore the world!
Have you played Temple Run? Or Subway Surfers, Sonic Racing, Mario or whatever? Driving the vehicle while collecting “carbon coins” will be an unprecedented experience. The vehicle provides an environmentally friendly way to travel and the carbon credits will be automatically recorded into the user’s personal carbon account, leading to green footprints on this planet. The accumulated footprints will create the opportunities to gain surprise NFTs. The car has surround screen for the users to share the travel locations, favorable music and live comments interactions.

Design Concept
Team PIXEL’s goal is not to show a ready-made solution, but the direction and philosophy in design.
“Many people can do well and difficult, but we try to do well and simple”.
Instead of door handles, Team PIXEL used a minimum number of parts to reduce the weight of the body and make the car more compact. Most of other car designs adopt complicated lines to embody the dynamic and aggressive exterior, while team PIXEL took a different approach: the vehicle body design is like a multitool to be adapted for different tasks. The laconic design has avoided the complicated surfacing works. Two symmetry planes create unification for body and interior parts. The vehicle also has a transformable interior to carry cargos on-demand.
