GAC Motor automaker to sell first Chinese electric cars in Israel
JERUSALEM, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) — Chinese electric cars will be sold for the first time in Israel starting in the first quarter of 2020, as an Israeli dealership will offer models of GAC Motor, China's leading auto maker, the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Thursday.
The GAC Motor electric car models that will be sold in Israel are Aion S and Trumpchi GE3.
Aion S, a compact sedan car, was unveiled in November 2018 by GAC NE, GAC Motor's energy vehicle arm.
The length of the Aion S is 4.77 meters and its wheelbase is 2.75 meters. The 58.8 kWh battery capacity gives the Aion S a minimum driving range of 510 kilometers.
The Trumpchi GE3, launched in 2017, is a subcompact crossover SUV (sport utility vehicle) with a length of 4.35 meters and a wheelbase of 2.56 meters.
It is equipped with a 47-kWh battery and has a driving range of 310 km.

Toyota to invest over $300 mln in St. Petersburg plant by 2028, says Japanese PM
VLADIVOSTOK, September 5. /TASS/. Japan's Toyota Motor plans to invest additionally 20 bln rubles ($303 mln) in its facility in St. Petersburg by 2028, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said at a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum on Thursday.
“Japanese companies are becoming increasingly interested in Russia. Toyota will invest additionally 20 bln rubles in its plant in St. Petersburg by 2028,” he said.
The Toyota Motor Plant in St. Petersburg was opened in 2007 and currently produces Camry and RAV4 models. Production capacity of the plant is 100,000 vehicles per year. Cars are supplied to the Russian market and exported to Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The fifth Eastern Economic Forum is being held in Russia's Vladivostok on September 4-6. Roscongress Foundation is the organizer of the event. China’s iconic sedan brand Hongqi sees sales surge from Jan-Aug
CHANGCHUN, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) — Hongqi, a brand under China's leading automaker FAW Group, sold 52,000 cars from January to August this year, marking a 231-percent rise year on year, FAW Group said Thursday.
Hongqi is now selling six models including two sedans, two SUVs, an EV and a customized limousine.
The company has started to sell the Hongqi E-HS3, a pure electric sport utility vehicle model, which is priced between 225,800 yuan (around 32,000 U.S. dollars) to 265,800 yuan.
To provide better services for its customers, Hongqi has built more than 100 experience centers across the country.
Hongqi sold a total of 33,028 cars in 2018.
Hongqi, meaning “red flag,” is China's iconic sedan brand. The brand was established in 1958 and has been used as the vehicle for parades at national celebrations.
It plans to launch up to 17 new models by 2025, including new energy models and SUVs.
