Sant’Agata Bolognese/London, 24 May 2017 – The Huracán Performante has been awarded the Innovation Award by the UK’s Autocar magazine. The presentation was made to Board Member for Research and Development, Maurizio Reggiani, in an event at Silverstone circuit, which coincided with Lamborghini’s week-long dynamic launch of the car in Italy, to media worldwide.
“The Huracán Performante demonstrates intriguing innovation in its active aerodynamics system,” said Autocar editor Mark Tisshaw. “The award recognises the technology that most impressed us during the last year, something that has broken new ground.
“Having just driven the car at its launch, we can also vouch for the remarkable performance of this naturally aspirated super sports car. The active aerodynamics system takes dynamic handling to a new level.”
“We are very proud to receive formal recognition from a prominent and respected UK automotive publication,” said Maurizio Reggiani. “The Huracán Performante’s abilities are already proven from its production car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This award provides additional acknowledgement of the car’s prowess, which is largely due to its patented ALA system (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva), and a testament to the talent of our R&D and design teams.”

Worldwide deliveries increase by 11% to 2,327 cars in first half of 2018Europe leading global growth with highest gains in Italy and UKWorldwide deliveries of Super SUV Lamborghini Urus about to startStrong growth path substantiated beyond FY 2018Sant’Agata Bolognese, 13 July 2018 – Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. reports another increase in worldwide deliveries. In the first six months (January 1 to June 30) of the current Fiscal Year 2018 the Italian super sports car maker delivered a total of 2,327 cars to customers around the world. Compared to the same period in the previous year this is an increase of 11%. These figures mark another record and even surpass the full year sales numbers of only five years ago. “Lamborghini continues to be in consistently good shape. Delivering another new all-time high, for the fourth consecutive half year, confirms the sustainability of our brand, product and commercial strategy. The success is all the more remarkable as we master the unprecedented double challenge of creating new models in our super sports car range, while simultaneously ramping up the production of our highly acclaimed Super SUV Urus. This quantum leap in the longstanding history of Lamborghini is only possible due to the passion, dedication and competence of our unrivalled team,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. In July the first customer deliveries of the Lamborghini Urus are to start. Thus, the half-year growth is based mainly on further increased sales of the two super sports car model lines Huracán and Aventador. Boosted by rocketing sales of the Huracán Performante, global sales of the Huracán model line with Coupé, Spyder and racecar versions showed an increase from 1,400 to 1,604 units. The Aventador line maintained the high level of the previous period with 673 units delivered. The largest single market for Lamborghini once again was the US, followed by Japan and the United Kingdom. The strongest region was Europe with an increase of more than 30%. Within Europe, Italy, the UK and Austria showed the highest growth rates. The outlook for Lamborghini continues to be strongly positive. The company has successfully completed the massive investment phase in the new development and production sites for the Urus model line at the Sant’Agata Bolognese Headquarters. Stefano Domenicali underlines: “After crossing the billion Euro turnover threshold for the first time in 2017, and with the first deliveries of our Super SUV starting, the stage is set for us to enter a new dimension for the company, while never compromising the exclusivity of our brand.” The company confirms its expectation of sustained solid growth for the reminder of the 2018 financial year.

· The new facility will be operational by the end of 2018
· The building will cover more than 10,000 sqm
· Up to 200 new job hires once the full plant production capacity is reached
Sant'Agata Bolognese, 22 May 2017 – Automobili Lamborghini continues development of its production site, announcing construction of a paint plant. The new building will be completed by the end of 2018 and will be used to paint the body of the Urus SUV, which is scheduled to arrive on the market next year.
The paint plant will extend over more than 10,000 square meters, further expanding the production site, which will extend from the 150,000 sqm, envisaged and reached up by end of 2017, to a total of more than 160,000 sqm of covered area.
The new paint facility will also impact favorably in terms of human resources: approximately 200 new hires will be made by the time the plant reaches full production capacity, adding to 500 jobs created due to the third Lamborghini model.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lamborghini, remarked: “We are very pleased with this result, which represents another step on our path of strategic expansion. Thanks to the support and faith of our shareholder AUDI AG, a decision was taken that most effectively safeguards our know-how, job growth in the territory, and brand identity.”
The new plant will benefit from the most advanced technological systems with low environmental impact. A staff of highly-skilled workers will guarantee the highest standards of quality on products characterized by a high level of customization.
The confirmation was favored by a recent organizational agreement made between the company and the union regarding the system of work shifts, aimed at making expansion highly attractive in terms of competitiveness and cost control.

McLaren Milestone: 15,000 Cars Built Since 2011

27 May 2018, 9:06 UTC · by Mircea Panait
/ Home / News / Car Profile

In 2011, McLaren started production of the 12C at its facility in Woking, Surrey. Seven years later, the British automaker celebrates 15,000 vehicles manufactured since then, a feat that comes less than 18 months after the 10,000th automobile built.
34 photosFirst things first, the milestone comes after a most successful 2017, with McLaren shipping 3,340 cars in the previous calendar year. And secondly, the F1 from the 1990s came out at a time when McLaren’s automotive division wasn’t even a thing.
“The Sports Series has been pivotal to driving this growth, with the 570S Spider now the most popular of the range,” said Mike Flewitt, chief executive officer at McLaren Automotive. “The fact we are now able to produce 20 cars a day is of course a great testament to the hard work and dedication of every one of our workforce, who should feel justifiably proud and part of this great team effort.”
For the time being, there are three tiers of road-going McLaren models. The range starts with the Sports Series (540 and 570), continues with the Super Series (720), and tops with the Ultimate Series (P1, Senna, BP23 Hyper-GT). Bearing in mind that the Woking-based company came out with the 12C seven years ago, it’s very, very impressive how much things have changed in such a short amount of time.
At the present moment, around two-thirds of global sales come from the Sports Series and one-third from the Super Series. The Ultimate Series, as you can tell from the pricing of the Senna, is in a different league altogether. And speaking of the Senna, the twin-turbo V8-powered blunderbuss has recently entered production.
The place where it’s built, the McLaren Production Center, was designed by Foster + Partners and took just under 14 months from breaking ground to the first-ever 12C approved for shipping. Be that as it may, Lamborghini (3,815) and Ferrari (8,398) sell more vehicles than McLaren. Heck, even Rolls-Royce managed to deliver 3,362 cars to its customers in 2017.
But on the other hand, you could say that McLaren is the most exclusive name of the lot by a long margin. And chances are things won't change, more so if you bear in mind McLaren doesn't plan to add an SUV to its lineup.
