Careem Kids car type in the safest way to travel with children in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Safety is one of the most important topics to a parent when it comes to their children. Whether it’s the child’s day-to-day safety at home, at school, at a park or most importantly their safety on the roads.

It is also important to the government of the UAE to ensure the safety of their residents. Earlier in 2017, a new law was set to motion: children under the age of 10 (and below 145 centimetres) are prohibited to sit in the front seat, and it is mandatory to have a child seat for children up to the age of four years old.

That’s why we have created a car type specifically to keep your child and your family safe.

Our Careem Kids cars come equipped with a top of the range, ISO-fixed, Cybex Sirona car seat provided by Mamas & Papas. The seats can be adjusted for newborns and are safe for kids up to four years of age, they are recognised to be 80 percent safer than any other brand or model. The se..

Careem Bus has launched in Egypt – and it will help fix one of…

Careem Bus has just launched in Egypt, and not only will it help with mobility in Cairo, it could also change the city for the better.

A report from the World Bank estimates the annual costs of the congestion in Cairo to be up to $8 billion and clearly the situation there is one that needs to be addressed. But crucially, the World Bank report added, “Congestion does not have to be a fact of life. Cairo could be a more livable city, with adequate public transportation for the many that rely on it, and safer streets for all.”

We agree, so Careem undertook a study and discovered that 40 percent of the Egyptian population is not being served by a proper transportation service that suits their needs. And in Cairo there just isn’t a high-quality, reliable bus service available on the city’s main routes that can help solve the congestion problem – so we’ve launched Careem Bus.

Careem Bus represents the middle ground between the existing public transport and ride hailing cars. We believe th..

And as the leading internet platform in the region we are excited to be able to support a likeminded partner in OTF and the Government of Oman to share in a vision together and help enable Oman to utilise our technology and platform to work across several sectors in the country.

This partnership will give us opportunity to demonstrate how the Careem platform can support governments in their forward-thinking ambitions and help enable Oman to become one of the leading smart cities in the region.

Be it through the introduction of drone technology or cost-effective and environmentally-friendly autonomous vehicles, this represents a significant step into the future and sets an exciting forward-thinking precedent for a new form of public-private-partnership for the region.

The MOU also includes the possibility of the OTF entering joint ventures or other strategic partnerships with us, including making an investment in Careem on behalf of Oman’s sovereign wealth funds. We are excited to be..
