This morning, at 9 a.m. on the dot, the 350 vehicles taking part in the Lamborghini Grand Tour started their engines and set off towards Forte dei Marmi. Leaving the parc fermè in Milan, capital of Italian design, fashion, and finance and starting point of the Grand Tour behind them, the roaring supercars from the House of the Raging Bull set off towards Forte dei Marmi, one of the most exclusive and fashionable resorts on the Tyrrhenian coast and birthplace of the Italian bourgeoisie's luxury vacations of the 1960s.
The convoy covered 270 km, taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Aveto Natural Regional Park and the Trebbia River valley, described by Hemingway as one of the most beautiful in the world, stopping for lunch at the Saint Columbanus Monastery in Bobbio. On reaching their destination, the Lamborghini cavalcade parked up in Forte dei Marmi's “living room” – Piazza Marconi, right in the center of town – to the surprise and admiring glances of residents and holidaymakers who are usually no strangers to seeing powerful cars driving through.

A convoy of 350 Lamborghini super sports cars will leave from Milan on 8 May, as the biggest reunion ever of cars from the House of the Raging Bull start their Grand Tour as part of Lamborghini's 50th Anniversary celebrations. The tour will pass through the beautiful landscapes of Lombardia, Toscana, Lazio, Umbria and Emilia Romagna, stopping over in Forte dei Marmi, Grosseto, Roma, San Giustino Valdarno and Bologna, where they will arrive on 10 May in the afternoon.
On Saturday 11 May the Lamborghinis will depart again for Sant'Agata Bolognese, for the final celebrations of the 50th anniversary.
The convoy will be more than 4.5 km in length, with a dramatic combined power of more than 190,000 hp. It will be a true open air exhibition of all the models that wrote the history of the brand. From the first car produced in 1963, the 350 GT, it will include virtually the entire model range right up to the current Gallardo and Aventador models. Drivers and co-drivers will arrive from all over the world: with 65% men and 35 women, their ages range from 22 to 75 years old, underlining the passion for the brand that stays from one generation to the next.
The first rendez-vous is in Milan, on 7 May at 10.00 am, when the Lamborghinis will be parked at the parc fermé in Piazza Castello, and from there will leave the following day to Bobbio.
Content from the event will be available next week.

In its seminal fiftieth year, the growing dimension to Lamborghini's engagement in motorsport will enjoy another notable contribution as arguably the foremost Formula One designer – Adrian Newey – returns to the cockpit of a Lamborghini Gallardo to race among the squadrons of Super Trofeo contenders at Silverstone this weekend as part of the Blancpain Endurance Series bill at the Northamptonshire circuit.
Newey will piloting the #1 VIP car amid a highly competitive grid split neatly between the established PRO-AM experience of series leader Cédric Leimer, Adrian Zaugg and Andrea Amici, who among others, were dominant in Monza and a rising crop of young amateur talent including Andrea Solimè, who stole a march on their senior rivals in the series' first night race at Misano three weeks ago.
The young drivers will be joined by another 17 year old in Northampton to supplement the contribution of Italian racer, Alessandra Brena. She will be joined by Fabian Hamprecht, who will race in a Leipert-prepared Gallado for Automobili Lamborghini Racing Germany alongside one of five British drivers, Rupert Svendsen-Cook.
