10 Things Everyone Forgot About The Noble M600 – HotCars

Supercars seem to be everywhere. Nearly every big brand manufacturer does, has, or potentially looked to offer up some form of high-performance super machine. Getting noticed amongst the constant barrage of four-wheeled speed on offer is a tricky job, but the ballistic Noble M600 stands tall. Wiping the floor with the likes of the McLaren 570S, Ferrari 488, and Lotus Evora GT, it proves itself to be a formidable adversary.

Lovingly built by hand, the Noble M600 is a labor of love. A honed evolution brought to life following a small series of bespoke sports cars, the Noble M600 looks upon its rivals as mass-produced pretenders. Able to crush an Audi R8 V10 Panther Edition with the mere flex of the throttle, the in-gear acceleration of the Noble M600 is nothing less than ferocious.

Noted as being one of the fastest production cars to ever lay down rubber on the public highway, the Noble M600 is a rocket ship that takes no prisoners. A supercar that simply gets the job in hand done, and done fast, here are 10 things everyone forgot about the Noble M600

10/10 A Noble Endeavor

Based on a platform that never went into production, the Noble M600 is a supercar slayer. A low volume production vehicle that is painstakingly crafted by a team of 20, it underlines the very nature of what a bespoke product truly is.

Looking rather plain and unadventurous when compared to some exotic modern offerings, the M600 is all business. Every design detail has been thought out, tweaked, and refined to ensure that when on the move, the M600 is almost unbeatable.

Constructed around a space frame of aluminum and steel, clad in fiberglass panels, the M600 tips the scales at a featherweight of 2755 lbs. That’s the equivalent of an average modern base-specification BMW Mini, but with 6 times more horsepower.

Designed so that weight distribution is almost perfect, the engine sits right behind the cockpit. Behind the wheel, the non-fussy dash layout, fighter jet-derived switches and body-hugging seats all add to the sense of occasion.

8/10 An Interesting Engine

The Yamaha-derived 4.4-liter V8 engine gains an array of high-performance internals along with a pair of turbos to generate an eye-watering 650hp. Boasting 528hp per tonne, the M600 makes the Bugatti Veyron look like an overfed, underpowered hippo.

With almost zero turbo lag, the monster V8 dishes out an enormous turn of speed. Impressively, the Noble M600 remains fairly easy to drive, all that power is harnessed within a chassis that feels far friendlier and more approachable than rivals.

Using all of the available power will see the speedo snap to 60mph in as little as 2.9 seconds, whilst 200mph takes just 29 seconds. On the go, the M600 will jump from 40-60mph in a whiplash-inducing 2 seconds, in fourth gear. Flexible power, monster speed.

Flat out, the Noble M600 will blast to a claimed 225mph. Off the pace, the powerful M600 feels just like any other car, being easier to drive than many would presume. Incredibly alert in all gears, mashing the accelerator delivers a huge knockout blow.

As a 200mph supercar, the Noble M600 may seem like an unforgiving fire-breathing monster, but that is not the case. An easy-to-use clutch, snappy manual gearbox, and precise steering setup make it an absolute joy to drive.

The bolstered seats offer up lots of cosseting support, whilst the useful stowage space adds a degree of practicality. Unlike many supercars, the Noble M600 also rides with a degree of comfort that is almost unheard of and is a credit to its creators.

Straight out of the blocks, the Noble M600 goes harder and faster than anything else within its immediate price range. It will obliterate so-called supercars that cost over ten times as much. It’s expensive, but an expensive bargain.

When compared to the supercar benchmark, the McLaren F1, the Noble M600 destroyed it in every way. Proving to be faster, more agile, and much more manageable to drive, the M600 simply outshines all those that it comes up against.

4/10 No Backbreaking Bruiser

Blessed with suspension that will carve through tight corners and yet offer up a spine-saving supple ride, the Noble M600 is no track-day special. Equally, at home in the real world, it can be driven daily without much fuss before being used to attack a private circuit.

The only chink in the Noble’s armor is the lack of ABS. Believed to compromise the already excellent brake feel, the lack of assisted braking may put some buyers off. Rest assured, though, that this missing feature doesn’t detract from the experience one bit.

3/10 That Old School Approach

Proving that the Noble M600 is a true driver’s machine, Noble doesn’t offer an automatic version. Not wanting to water down, or upset the car’s perfect analog nature, no fashionable flappy paddles or intelligent dual-clutch system is likely to ever be offered on the coupe.

This back to basics approach also means that no traction control, launch control, and the lack of anti-lock brakes make it something of a rarity. It’s an old-school monster that benefits from very modern engineering to deliver a high-speed thrill.

2/10 Dial-Up The Power

Fitted with a variable boost system, the twin-turbo setup can be adjusted from within the cockpit to suit a driver’s lust for power. A quick swivel of the switch to select the Road option, and the system serves up 450hp with the turbos generating 8.7psi.

Another switch click of the switch into Track will result in 12psi and 550hp, whilst dialing up the full-blooded Race mode results in 15psi and a rip-snorting 650hp. Whatever your mood may dictate, there’s an option and the power to satisfy it.

1/10 The Forgotten Hero

Offered with just three specifications to choose from, the Noble M600 is a very rare vehicle. Whether it be the base model, carbon fiber clad racer, or gorgeous open-top Speedster, the chances of seeing one on the road are very slim.

Often overlooked by purchasers in favor of the more well-known Italians, highly refined Germans, or thunderous American supercars, the British-born Noble is an unsung hero. It’s a car for true automobile fans, a driver’s machine that will wipe the floor with its rivals.
