Dear reader,
the 49-euro ticket does not start on January 1, 2023 – and nobody will be surprised. Rather, it would have been surprising if the federal, state and transport companies had implemented the prestige project accident-free.
Politicians are now targeting April as the starting month for the successor to the 9-euro ticket that expired at the end of August. The transport companies assume May. At earliest.
In the meantime, Deutsche Bahn has already increased the prices for regional transport, with long-distance transport following in December, as it does every year. Refueling, on the other hand, has recently become cheaper.
This winter, too, only a few people will leave their cars at home. The traffic turnaround will have to wait.
