The Czech-built Praga Bohema takes a different approach to the hypercar than most, swapping hybrid assistance and four-figure power for a focus on low kerb weight and lap times. Though development is still ongoing, evo’s Jethro Bovingdon had the chance to take an early look at a prototype, and we explore the highlights in this week’s car pictures. To read the story in full, pick up your copy of issue 305 in store or online via the evo shop.
Like Praga’s previous offerings, the Bohema is built around a carbonfibre monocoque, with every single component designed with low weight in mind. Despite a surprisingly refined finish, the cabin is constructed from just 56 pieces of carbonfibre, for example, weighing just 34kg in total.

At the car’s core is a development of Nissan’s excellent 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6, bored out to 3.8 litres and modified by British tuner Litchfield for outputs of 700bhp and 535lb ft of torque. Of course, a naturally aspirated V12 would be more euphonious, and there are hypercar rivals that boast over twice the Praga’s output, but very few achieve a sub-1000kg kerb weight…
As captured by Gus Gregory, its low-slung design is akin to something you’d expect to see only in the virtual world, with carbonfibre body panels shrink wrapped around a motorsport-derived chassis. Yet not only is this a product for the real world, it will even come with number plates.
